Brother DS-620 Scanner | Product Review | Mobile USB Color Page Scanner

The Brother DS-620 scanner is a mobile, USB-powered, color scanner, that is great for scanning receipts, photos and other documents. We use it primarily for scanning receipts, but have also used it with great success for scanning photo albums.

It is very fast for its size, scanning up to 8 pages per minute in color or black and white. In our experience, it scans receipts and photos even more quickly.

It is also very lightweight and portable, at less than 1 pound in weight and 12 inches in length. This makes it easy to take to a coffee shop, library, or just set it beside you in a gravity chair and scan some receipts while you watch the ducks float by–as we did today!

Another nice feature is that it is powered by a standard micro USB cable (included), eliminating the need for a wall outlet.

Additionally, it has a feature that allows you to continually feed documents without initiating a new scan each time, and easily comes apart if it jams. (It is worth noting that we have never had a jam, though.)

Some additional features are:

– Versatile Media Handling – Easily scans documents, photos, receipts, business and plastic I.D. cards, and more – from business card size up to 8.5″(W) x 32″(L)
– Bundled with a Versatile Software Suite – Including desktop document management, OCR, and business card management programs
– Powered via the included USB cable – No wall outlet required
– Compatible with BR-Receipts- Receipt management software that offers organization of scanned receipts and data exporting to Quicken and QuickBooks
– Windows, Mac, and Linux compatible
– Outstanding Support – Includes a one-year limited warranty plus free phone support for the life of the product

We use this scanner on almost a daily business. It helps us keep track of our personal and business expenses, and having our receipts scanned and categorized saves us time and money when tax season rolls around! As mentioned above, we have also used it with great success to backup precious memories stored in photo albums that we found after Kali’s father passed away. Now those memories are backed up digitally and will never be lost.

We rate this scanner 5 stars out of 5.

Greetings,

I pulled the trigger and got one of these today. My old scanner was bulky and ended up toast. It was way to big for my RV anyway. This little gem fits the bill and works like a charm. I have been scanning my photos all day Only downside is that you have to purchase the receipt software separately but it’s only 10 bucks. I certainly give it a thumbs up!

What megapixel does this scanner scan at?

Steve Currington says:

Looks good. I scan al my documents into Evernote. Evernote is an awesome information management tool.

Does this scanner support Evernote?

Btw they also do a duplex scanner for scanning both sides a document in a single pass. Much the same size and USB powered.

Stinky the Chimp says:

Great review. I’m gonna pick one up on Amazon. My Fujitsu snapscan just died so this looks like a good option.

rjr 4949 says:

If you have a program like Photoshop, you could scan multiple receipts at once and then use Photoshop to separate them. you will then have smaller file sizes and save on disk space.

Blueshirt says:

I’m looking for something that can be battery powered, and with onboard storage, so this isn’t for me. Just wanted to say great review either way.

A Heart Beat says:
